Ridge 2007 Geyserville (half-bottle) - Our Price $15.79 - Mon, 08 Mar 2010
A blend of 58% Zinfandel, 22% Carignane,18% Petite Syrah and 2% Mataro.

Winter quickly came and went, leaving the vinesshort on rain, but in good shape to begin an early growing season. A mild summer moderated thepace of ripening, allowing color and flavor tointensify. Mid-August heat accelerated maturation, and we harvested at ideal ripeness from late August through September. Parcels and sub-parcels fermented on natural yeasts in fifty small tanks. As we blind-tasted over the ensuing months, Geyserville's unique character seemed clearest in thirty-nine of the lots. The exceptional quality of Carignane and Petite Sirah argued for their full inclusion; percentages are comparable to the superb1991 vintage. By year's end, the blend was aging in air-dried american oak barrels. Sensuous structure and opulent fruit give this fine wine immediate appeal. Firm tannins and acidity assure its longevity over the next ten to twelve years.

Ridge 2007 Lytton Springs Zinfandel (half-bottle) - Our Price $15.79 - Mon, 08 Mar 2010
A blend of 71% Zinfandel, 22% Petite Sirah and 7% Carignane.

After a dry winter and spring, budbreak came early. Despite the lack of spring rain, temperate summer weather mitigated vine stress and created ideal ripening conditions. At veraison, we dropped a quarter of the young zinfandel. A warm August ripened the fruit earlier than expected, and we harvested the thirtyfour parcels as flavors developed fully, fermenting each separately on its natural yeasts. Color and tannin extracted easily, reducing maceration time to seven days, on average. After malolactic, we chose twenty-one lots for this year's wine. Aged for fifteen months in air-dried american oak, this classic Lytton Springs is remarkable for its richness, balance, and elegant texture. It will soften and gain complexity over the next ten years.

Duckhorn 2008 Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon - Our Price $23.99 - Mon, 08 Mar 2010
92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc

This appealing Napa Valley bottling highlights the complexity of the Cabernet Sauvignon varietal.Since 1978, Duckhorn Vineyards has been producing Cabernet Sauvignon that embodies thediversity of Napa Valley winegrowing and offers classic Cabernet elements of currant, cherry, plumand olive.

Though the 2008 growing season presented certain challenges—from early frosts to droughtconditions—a meticulous approach to viticulture and sorting yielded small crops with goodconcentration, highlighting soft, appealing tannins for our red varietals and bright acidity for ourwhite grapes. A long, moderately cool summer led to a harvest that commenced in mid-August andconcluded in early November. This relatively relaxed pace allowed us to pick in numerous passes toensure quality, often focusing on individual rows or a single side of the vines.

Whitehall Lane 2006 Merlot (half-bottle) - Our Price $15.49 - Mon, 08 Mar 2010
A blend of 83% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Syrah.

The aromas are somewhat exotic, melding spicy aromas with dark cherry and blackberry notes and hi-lighted by hints of violet and lavender. The flavors are similar to the aromas with sandalwood and vanilla just beginning to give ground to the greater fruit below. It finishes long and silky, revealing its cherry core in the delicious finish. The wine is ready to enjoy now and will evolve with cellaring to 2012.

Henschke 2006 Johann's Garden GSM - Our Price $39.99 - Mon, 08 Mar 2010

Bright crimson in color. Sweet ripe lifted aromas of cherry plums, raspberry, rhubarb and anise. Hints of spicy nutmeg, clove and mace with smoky cedar nuances.
