About Us

“Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it.” ~ Anonymous

That really says it for us! Since Laura and I have been married, we’ve enjoyed the experience of wine more and more each year. As we experience activities associated with wine, we continue to develop a better appreciation for it. We don’t have any formal wine tasting training nor do we have degrees in Viticulture…we just love to drink wine; and when we do, we talk together about what we like about it. Once we started thinking about all that went into a bottle of wine, i.e. each sip; the grape plant itself; where it came from and how long ago it was started; the hard working farmers; different types of soils; cultivation; the environment (the warm sun, cool rain) and those amazing oak barrels; not to mention the actual wine making process; it made us much more aware that GOOD WINE doesn’t JUST HAPPEN. It’s TRULY AN ART.

David and Laura PruterWine tasting and traveling are two of our favorite activities. We’re very fortunate to live in an area with vineyards all around us. Wine is everywhere in California and we love it. We can jump in the car and within hours be tasting wine at wonderful wineries in Santa Barbara, Temecula or Paso Robles. For a weekend get-away and a little more mileage, we can make it up to Napa and Sonoma Valley for some of the best wines our country can produce. We just can’t get enough of this kind of adventure.

And the pleasure of just drinking the wine is always an experience we truly enjoy. We love to find new varieties as well as new wineries to visit and tour. We love to talk to the winemakers and the people who work at the vineyard we’re visiting. Over the years we’ve found a few favorite locations and are always excited to find new places and new tastes. Each time we go and each bottle we drink, we always appreciate the pour, swirl, smell and sip! And of course, with the right temperature and the right glass. It would be a sin to do otherwise.

Talking ‘wine’ is another experience that gives us a special delight - that’s one of the reasons why we started this website about wine. Worldwinereviews.com is a place to record our tasting experiences as well as give a place for other readers and wine drinkers to share their comments and wine reviews. We really want to know if you’ve found something special out there that we may have missed. Tell us where you’ve been and what you’ve tried, we’re anxious to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Laura & David
