Gimenez Riili Mendoza Argentina 2004 Merlot

Gimenez Riili Perpetuum Merlot 2004Winemakers since 1945!

Harvested by hand in March of 2004, this 100% Merlot from Argentina has us excited for more. To us, this medium-bodied Merlot wine had a bit of smokey taste along with a touch of roasted pepper. Nose contained some delightful fruit and finish was enjoyable and long lasting. A must try wine from Gimenez Riili!

Taymente Malbec 2003

Taymente Malbec 2003Another bold and beautiful Malbec from Argentina! Filled with cherry and blackberries, this wine from Argentina was really enjoyable and a must have again soon.

Winemaker notes:
Although totally drinkable now, this wine will also be great after 2-3 years of aging. Berries explode on your palate…from Argentine Winemaker of the Year, Jose Hernandez Toso.

Tasting notes from The Vines of Mendoza:
Traditional Malbec through and through! This wine personifies the unique characteristics of this singular varietal: intense violet color, aromas of ripe plums with hints of chocolate and vanilla, and cherry, violet and mocha flavors.. Enjoy its full body and long finish, rounded out by the balanced use of new oak.

Food pairing ideas:
Excellent with roasted meats, steaks, game, and medium to sharp hard cheeses.
